Initial Art

They’re done!10

While I also liked the look of initials painted on paint chips, the bigger initials had more color and personality. They were also more fun to make.

1511I chose a main color for each of the letters. L was yellow, first K was blue, C was green and the second K was pink.12

You can’t tell at all in these photos, but the backing paper for the letters is actually off-white and has a lot of texture to it. In person it makes them a little more interesting than just a plain white background.13

They were pretty simple to make. After deciding on a color, I just flipped through a magazine until I had a good number of clippings in the chosen color. Then it was just a matter of layering the clippings onto the letter.14 16

I can’t wait to see how they all look hanging up in our apartment. But that won’t be until mid-August.

Was anyone else inspired this weekend?
